Passing on Faith

Passing on Faith - A.M. Leibowitz A free copy was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.

Upon the death of his father, Micah finds out from his jerk of a brother, that his father did leave him something in his will. Thinking he was finally free from the burden of his religious family, the news hits Micah especially hard. He returns to the vacation home knowing there's going to be a lot of improvement needed before he can sell it and get it out of his hair. On his arrival, he has a run in with his neighbor an absolutely quirky and lively individual named Cat. Cat somehow manages to insinuate himself into Micah. Micah has his hang ups though, as does Cat, the two find themselves in a situation of whether to let their past control them or to move on and start living.

I'm not a really religious or spiritual being. In fact I usually avoid stories dealing with any religious aspect in it. I'm not really sure why I decided to give this a read but I'm glad to say I did enjoy it. Religion wasn't really in the forefront. The story was more character driven then I expected. Spirituality was touched upon and not pushed upon the readers or (through) characters. I found myself intrigued about Rachel's situation. I didn't trust her at first when she called Micah for help but the tidbit of information she was feeding readers was fascinating.
