I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The story was a bit of a cross between
Runaway Bride and How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. If you've seen either movies you can pretty much predict what goes on in the book, with the authors on spin on it.
Kieran is a columnist for a glossy magazine and has his pick of bed partners. He's at the point in his life where he finds his life isn't fulfilling and he'll like to maybe find someone to settle down with but is still on the market until such a time happens. On his quest for his next article, he finds himself traveling to a small town to report on a bride who has left her last three grooms at the alter and is the process of planning her fourth wedding. There he meets Jaxon Lang, the fourth groom. The sparks fly between the two. In the process of digging for information, Kieran discovers details about the bride that can hurt a lot of people but save Jaxon from making the biggest mistake of his life.
The story was well written and entertaining. I liked the characters quite a bit. There was a point in the book that I though Jaxon behavior during the first half and the second half off. He just seemed like such a reserved kind of guy but witty. During the second half he seemed a bit more playful and outgoing (I don't know if it was just me over thinking it).
The chemistry between the two was a bit tamer than I expected but still at a level that had me blushing. I really wouldn't mind seeing a short story or something revisiting the two if the author ever wrote one...just saying..
