A really short read focusing on two lovers who have to keep their relationship a secret because discovery can mean dire consequences.

I really enjoyed it; for such a short story readers get a lot of information. Jack and Christopher both served in the military and fought at Waterloo. Christopher comes back a changed man but doesn't let it really affect his life. Jack served along side him and continues looking after him during and after. The declension to follow Christopher back to his home and become his valet is an easy one. Not to mention it's helpful in hiding that the two are lovers. Complications come in the form of Christopher's family wanting him to wed. Then a solution to their dilemma of remaining together presents itself from an uncle.
It was a simple easy read that could be finished on a coffee break.
