There was a lot of things I liked. I liked seeing the letters Trenton got from his grandmother, her messages to him to live his life, the atmosphere in the village and the characters interaction with the people he grew up around. It all made for an enjoyable read. The only issues I had with the story (mostly my preference here) was that I thought the relationship between Trenton and Callum was too easily mended. Also Callum just came off as a bit of a overbearing jerk.
