I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 starsDerek and Tyler meet via playing on the same rugby team. Derek sees the submissiveness in Tyler and after watching him play rugby knows that he’s the one. Fast forward a year and readers get to see Derek setting up plans and laying them down to Tyler for a weekend of total submission, not a scene for an hour but a scene that will last two days (well three nights and two days) with no safe words. Tyler is tasked with two things to obey and to take care of Derek’s most prized possession.
I liked reading about how they met and I wished readers had gotten a bit more of that. When reading BDSM books they usually turn out one of two ways for me. I either finish it and like/love it or can't finish it and feel uncomfortable. I'm glad to say I finished it and loved it and actually picked up some information I didn't know previously from other BDSM novels I've read. The love between Tyler and Derek and that reassurance through the story made this an easier read. I wasn't squeamish during the BDSM scenes although the nipple clamps/other clamps did make me wince. I enjoyed seeing Derek worry and his thoughtfulness in planning the scenes and his need for preparation and reading that he did research but was still concerned. Reading about Tyler feelings, his concerns and feeling from transitioning from sub to slave and gaining the approval/pleasing his Dom just added another layer to the story.
Fisting usually freaks me out but I felt the authors handled it well and frankly it didn't weird me out or make me uncomfortable. Tyler’s enjoyment and his wonder showed and he really appreciate everything that was happening to him even through his fear and that negated any unease I had. I loved the show of love, affection, devotion, insecurities and care that was shown throughout this whole story.
I have to say there were a few minor grammar issues so I had to take away part of a star. It just bother me, otherwise it would have totally gotten the whole five stars.
