I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a bit ashamed for saying this but I don't know much about about the Amish besides for what I thought I knew ( which was kind of correct and kinda of not so correct) considering I live in a state with a huge Amish presence. I'm really glad I gave this book a chance and truthfully when I signed up to get a copy I didn't exactly think I would like it. Boy, was I wrong. It was interesting learning about the Amish way of life, the thought process and culture.

Isaac was an intriguing character. His struggle with his faith and sexuality and what was expected of him had me fascinated. I wanted to see how he would handle his feelings towards David, how he would handle the new experiences David was walking him through and how he just felt about David.

David, wasn't what I expected him to be. He was a lot more lax then I thought he would be even though readers get to see him kind of disapprove of the way he's told he has to live his life according to their religion/ culture/ community. He certainly was a bag of surprises and I loved that he was the one to ease Isaac into the more worldly pleasures. He did kind of break my heart when he pushed Isaac away. He did redeem himself in my eyes at the end but his actions made me want to shake him. I'm really looking forward to seeing the next installment to David and Issac's story.
