Buried Desires

Buried Desires - Ofelia Gränd, Amy Spector I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Deadly Sugar by Ofelia Gränd
David loves beautiful things. He likes to surround himself with it. He likes to help his lovers achieve it too. But David has a darkness about him and readers witness it within the first few pages as he's helping his current lover Chris who's unable to help himself due to starvation caused by David's hands. In fact he has a root cellar full of lovers he has to help and very limited time to do it.

Jett just moved in next door to David. He's can't stop thinking about his ex, Josh. So decides to introduce himself to the neighbor. Jett thinks David is cute but a bit too thin after their introduction. So returns home to bake hoping to win David over with his goodies. At the same time he can't help but obsess over his ex, Josh.

There was a bit of undercurrent that Jett liked to fatten people up. Whereas David wanted thin lovers. This actually made me very curious about who would win out. If Josh, Jett's ex would come into the picture at all. The ending took a different turn than I thought it would.

Cold Fingers by Amy Spector
Christopher is recovering from a suicide attempt stemming from the death of his brother, Jonathan. An elderly friend drags him out to dinner to celebrate his birthday. At the dinner party he's meets Vic and they hit it off. When corpses start disappearing from the cemetery and Chris witnesses a strange exchange between Vic and the hospital mortician. Chris starts to suspect Vic is a necrophiliac.

This didn't end the way I was expecting it to and it was such a very nice twist. When reading the blurb I expected to feel weird about Vic but during the reading I didn't at all. Vic just wasn't what I expected him to be and he totally won me over. I'm happy that Vic and Chris were happy and that Vic pursued Chris even though things were looking pretty hopeless for him. The extent Vic went to to make Chris happy was admirable.
