Not really what I expected when I first picked this book. It surprised me in a big way. The last sixty or so pages were what did it since I wasn't aware there would be a genderbender trope in the book. All the religious views kind of frustrated e. It was just too much drama and angst for me. The story itself was entertaining and I did enjoy it even though I thought this was an m/m young-adult romance book. The gender identification issue, while not altogether new, was nice to see take some precedence. It added a level of emotional feel to how someone may struggle with the feeling they were born into the wrong body.
