In the Privacy of their Home - R.A. Padmos A free copy was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.

It's 1967, Dylan Archer is living his life in a safe routine that will keep his secret inclination just that. He's all but given up ever having a chance at happiness and settles for the crumbs of comfort.

In comes Max, a younger exoberant gorgeous individual who's working to support his dream of being an artist. Max brings some brightness and nice change of pace to Dylan's bleak and methodical life.

Max sees something in Dylan he likes. When the law changes, making homosexual acts legal as long as the individuals do it within the confounds of their own homes. Max takes the moment to make his feelings known. Dylan never dreamed his feelings would one day be returned, contenting himself with the idea of just spending time with Max. He never thought a relationship would be possible but with Max things just might work out. When what seems like a once in a lifetime chance comes calling for Max. Dylan doesn't know how he can contend.

I liked this story from the start but I started loving it more towards the end. Both Max and Dylan complemented each other in a way personality wise. Dylan came off as more of a wallflower whereas Max was a bit more life of the party and assertive. I enjoyed reading their relationship in its development stages and how attached they got together. I liked that Max got Dylan to let go and loosen up. I was tearing up a bit when I got to about 80% of the book. Dylan heartache was hard to read through but where he ended up made me happy.

As for the history aspect of the story I actually ended up doing my own research about the law allowing same sex relationships. I liked that I picked up this knowledge through the book and it made me curios enough to do my own research.
