Last Call

Last Call - Sierra Riley An ARC was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars

This was a simple and easy read told by two standpoints. We meet Connor as he is doing his third fine art show, which hasn't done as well as he expected. Then he to add salt to his wounds he receives news from his then boyfriend that he's been transferred to Tokyo and in not so many words doesn't want a long distance relationship.

Zach is a bartender making okay money. He works at a gay bar and his sexuality is in question by the patrons and coworkers. He gives off the "straight" vibe but he doesn't seem turned off by guys. Zach is in fact deeply closeted due to the treatment he experienced at the hands of his parents. When news of the bar going out of business comes up, Zach is open to the idea of moving on. Then he reunites Connor, his freshman college roommate.

I liked reading the connection between the two and how they just happened to cross paths again. It was cute. The detail concerning their passions were interesting to read along with the chemistry between the two. The change the two inspired in each other was great to read.
