Book 1 - Daniel is an aspiring musician who enjoys Motown and music from the 60-70s. He supplements his income by running a catering business with his friend. His ex/ neighbor/ best friend drags him out to have a little fun at a street festival.
While at the festival he comes across a musical act that captivates his attention. When he run across the singer, Greg, in a bar his best friend encourages him to go talk to the guy. It turns out they have more in common than a passing attraction. They end up jamming together and following into a romantic relationship. Thing change when the band, Greg is in gets an opportunity to go on tour.
Book 2 - touring starts for slow monkeys and two voices. Everything looks good but as the tour progresses tension rises within both groups. Add in a reunion with one of Greg's ex and band members sowing doubt and everything starts unraveling.
Like before we don't get the time to really better get to know Greg and Daniel. New characters appear some well meaning and other not so much. It was interesting learning and seeing the dynamic in each band and how each interacted.
Book 3 - two voices are booked at venues and have an opportunity do their first ever EP. But when they're faced with coming up with an original long that won't change their sound they meet their first hurdle that may break or make them.
I actually don't have much to say in the way this book progressed. Reader don't get much back story on either character. Daniel and Greg's meeting and progression is very simple and to the point. The two meet, they find they have a common taste in music, they practice and sing oldies together and then a small hiccup occur in their relationship in terms of a touring opportunity for Greg that means leaving Daniel behind. But with help from Daniel's friends the situation isn't so dire. Daniel and Greg come out of the issue intact and in fact they have a bigger opportunity to pursue their common love in music.
It was an alright read seeing how Daniel and Greg handled success, the stress and getting through new situations. Their group of friends were likable. It was a simple and easy read.
