A former student and teacher romance. We first meet Corey as he's finishing up high school. He has a huge crush on the high school coach, Justin. Their interaction is awkward as Corey is trying to hide his feelings and avoid the teacher. He goes so far as skipping class to hang out with a boy a year older than him. When Justin approaches him about skipping class and hanging with the wrong crowd, Corey takes a stand but promises to show in class. Fast forward four years and readers get to see Corey just moving on from a bad break up and loooking for his lost dog. When he does manange to track down his dog he finds she's been adopted. The new owner turns out to be Justin and he's unwilling to Corey his dog back. Corey isn't giving up until he gets his dog back.

It was a fine read. I think I was expecting the circumstances for Corey's situation to be worst than it was. Corey's behavior at the start threw me off since he was less than friendly. Than his bad experience with his ex felt a bit karmatic, his desperation to find his dog made me a little sad for him.

Corey was just a sad case and I felt really bad for him for a majority of the read. Things just wasn't working out so well for him. Justin, on the other hand was really mature and I liked that he was methodical and had more control and just a steady figure in Corey's life.
