When Jeff attends a Alberquque balloon feista with his brother in law and sister he's just looking forward to helping them set up their balloon and just spending time with them. He also has to break it to his sister that he won't be returning to California with her and her husband and will be remaining in Alberquque to start anew after the death of their parents.
Alex works for his family news station. He had big dreams to be a news caster but those were dashed quite unexpectedly by his ex. So now he spends his time interviewing and meeting with vendors as part of his job. When he sees Jeff he thinks it'll be great to get an outsiders opinion about the fiesta.
When the two meet, the last thing they expect is to feel the curl of attraction that immediately hits them. Alex has been burned before and is cautious about starting a relationship or even dating. But there's just something about Jeff that Alex can't help but give in to.
I love this story. It was such a sweet and easy story to breeze through. Alex being hurt and finding the strength to keep going and taking a chance was quite inspiring. I was totally rooting for him and Jeff despite his misgivings. I really loved Jeff for looking beyond physical appearances. I loved that Jeff never pushed for anything and let Alex do things at his own comfort. I loved that the two built up their relationship and spent quality time together.
There wasn't a character in this book I didn't like, well with the exception of Ryan, that guy while only mentioned was a jackass. I was glad to find out that he couldn't hurt Alex anymore. I hope the author decides to revisit these two again or at the very least give Ruben a story of his own. He was such a good friend to Alex and I liked that he was cool with Jeff.
