Every chapter spans a different time/year (2004, 2014, 1994, 2006, 2015, and 2020) in Evan and Scott's life. Readers get to slowly put together how their relationship was, how it started, when it all went wrong, and when it all started come together.

I enjoyed reading it but I felt like I might have hyped up the story in my mind which resulted in the book falling below my expectations. I wasn't really immersed in the story and Scott behavior made me want to box his ears. The way he brushed over impregnating a girl was off putting. and then him making a move on Evan while he was a relationship was another strike for him. They kept on missing each other and the way Scott was just took all the emotional punch out of the story for me. I felt like Scott could have gone either way....

It was great that Evan got everything he wanted but I didn't feel like Scott deserved him at all. I just wasn't buying their relationship would be an everlasting one. Which is a bit sad considering Evan and Scott were in it for the long haul together.
