The book consisted on three short stories with a focus on BDSM.
Pretty little straight boy
Four friends take a camping trip to celebrate their last summer of independence before they start their adult lives. A drunken game of hide and seek is suggested with a forfeit having to be paid if caught. When the seeker suggests one friend go down on him. The other isn't exactly sure what to make out of it considering he's straight as an arrow but when his friend starts bossing him round he doesn't feel reluctant at all.
I wasn't sure who to focus on at the start of this short story. I was split since the guys were all introduced and there was several of them. I wanted to keep my focus on Stephan but kept getting caught up with Rufus and whoever he found and the forfeit he requested from them. What he requested from Stephen was twist and I feel as if I should have been expecting it. Stephen's reaction, need and want were quite a surprise. I'm glad he found it with one of his best friend's. Rufus's control and separation from self was interesting and admirable. I wish the story had been longer so readers could see how far their relationship developed. There was more time to see he much they cared for each other. It was my favorite of the three.
Making amends
Jake the sub is a fiery guy who lives to obey his master, Alessandro. Jake just has one issue he hates one of his master's friends and ex-lover, Leo. He dislikes him so much, Jake ends up being rude to him. Prompting his master to punish him and force him to make amends with Leo.
Really not my favorite of the lot and right off the bat. Jake's dislike comes off the pages so well that I started off feeling bias against Leo right off the bat. Of course, what readers see of Leo's attitude doesn't help either. Jake being won over the way he was just didn't work for me either.
Office politics
Another one that wasn't my cup of tea. Kelvin likes taking risk. One way to do that is having office sex while his boss is still in the building. He has two hookups planned and has set it up so neither knows about the other. Things don't exactly go as planned but he tries to make it work. Things quickly go from hot and good to scary and dangerous.
I just felt Kelvin was acting like an idiot not thinking about the dangers. Luckily Peter was there to give aid.
None of these stories were romantic although they might have had slightly romantic undertones depending on how you view them. They were more like shorts that showed different types of bdsm or kinky relationships. The last two were hard for me to stomach not because they were violent or made me squeamish but because it was emotionless and it didn't feel as anyone was looking out for the other. No real emotional bonds were present and because of that it kind of lost me.
A free copy was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.
