An ARC was provided to me in exchange for an review.
Fian (first seen in book 1) finds himself envious of Zax. He's hoping to settle down too but thinks his prospects are very low or at the very least nonexistent at this point. He's also still worried that the Conquesters will find earth.
Ellis is a human member adapted by the pack when he was abandoned at a young age. When calls for volunteer's to help build a home for Fian. He does something out of character and volunteers.
Fian doesn't really know what to make of Ellis. They both are attracted to each other but Fian is a bit wary about starting anything with Ellis. As the two get closer though, they can't help but act on the attraction.
Fian and Ellis story felt a little rushed to me. It was mediocre in moving the plot along. Their story was very similar to Zax and Isaac's story with less excitement at the climax of the story. I'm not saying there wasn't anything in the book that wasn't exciting. The introduction of Rozel and the news he brings helped moved the plot and setup the next in the series. Fian's reaction to Ellis's news was shocking...I kind of felt sad for Ellis. There was just a lot of worry on Fian, making this a bit of a downer read.
They walked further into the field, and David started explaining how the contractors were going to start to Fian. Ellis listened for a little while, but lost interest.
