Marked

Marked - Kayci Morgan I got this when it was available on Amazon for free. As short stories go it was good. As the blurb describes Taiver offers himself up to make life easier for his family and the village he resides in. Readers get to see Taiver a bit in his life before it leads up to that point and his time in slavery and eventual attachment to his master.

I rated two stars for a few reasons not because I didn't like the story. I thought it had potential and could be even better if it was fleshed out. Going back to why I rated it low:
1) Taiver rape was brushed over by Taiver. His attitude towards the act after it happened was kind of like how one would react to a fly flying one's person. It's there, it's flying and won't leave you alone until it does and you go about your day.
2) Taiver is willing to do anything to satisfy his master after the act happens.
3) Taiver attachment and him falling in love with his master came out of nowhere.
4) Taiver just going with the flow.

There were also plenty of stuff i liked in the story. Taiver sacrificing his happiness so his sister could live her life. Taiver being so collect and calm about his situation (yes, him going with the flow). Taiver taking to camp life and doing more than he has to as a sex slave.
