It started off really well but from there it went down hill for me. Dekker gets pulled into doing this charity event where he has to model and dating game for a friend. Readers get to see some of his character traits and it is endearing. Also his friends are pretty awesome and it's cool that they're secure enough to allow each other to be so touchy feely. I digress however, he gets pulled into the event and when it comes to the Q&A of the dating show he finds himself attracted to the voice of one of the contestants. He ends up picking that guy for his blind date.
Slade is the guy who won the blind date with Dekker. Before the two can even go on their blind date, Slade reconciles with his ex...well no so ex-boyfriend, George. With George's permission, the two decide Slade should still go on the date with Dekker.
This becomes a problem when Slade and Dekker feels a strong attraction to each other. The two can barely keep their hands off each other on the date but do so when Slade lets it drop that he's in a relationship. However, Slade is a glutton for punishment and doesn't want the night ruined and suggest they go dancing. A kiss later and the two know they can't go forward without Slade cheating. The two go their separate way but Dekker knows what he feels for Slade can be a long time deal between them so concocts to steal Slade away from his boyfriend.
This was such a frustrating read for me. As I said it started out great. Dekker's interaction with his friends and their care for each other were a treat. Heck, even Dekker and Slade were great to read except I had that nagging little voice in the back of my mind that Slade was a cheater. Yes, his boyfriend was a jerk but Slade's decision to continue on after feeling what he felt for Dekker was just a load of crock. I was incensed for for quite a time towards the end of the book. The situation that resulted from Slade not taking action sooner just made me dislike Slade. I really lost respect for him when he left Dekker as he did because he felt guilty/hurt over George.
