4 different people recommended this book to me and when i asked about it 2 of them told me it was somewhat similar to Battle Royale. I haven't read book/manga or watched the movie so when Hunger Games was described to me I was thinking more on the lines of Lords of the Fly crossed with The Condemned (a movie I just recently watched).When starting the book I was really caught up with how descriptive the writing was. It made it really easy to visualize what the characters were wearing, looked like, etc. In addition the social structure was well developed and described. It was an interesting read but I feel as if it could have concluded with just this one book.
