Winter's Trial

Winter's Trial - Darren Endymion A really hard book to rate (between a 2.5-4 stars). There's a lot going on in this book and throughout you'll probably experience heart wrenching, nerve wracking moments twinged with frustration and anxiety. But there are also parts of the story where you're likely to be amused, I know I was. This will definitely be a hit or miss book for a lot of readers.

The plot was interesting and the werewolves in this story were a bit different from the usual shifters we read about. It was fun learning about all the official positions within a pack, the three forms, and the difference between fated mates and chosen mates.

There were moments when it felt like the book didn't flow well and there was one part about Tim's mating that had me curious about why the pack would object to 3 people mating? I was also a bit curious about the 3 chosen mates thing and how that worked with having 3 chosen mates available for the choosing.

I was a bit sad about what happened to William and even though I knew several chapters before the event happened what was going to happen I was hoping the author wouldn't go in that direction (which he did).
At the moments I'm not sure whether I want to read the next installment when it's available or not. I do want to find out who's
Taylor's mate and how he plays into everything but who knows....

Just a note to all those reading through this spoiler: If you don't like seeing the good or bad guys being killed off, betrayal, insta-love, and a lot of suffering and abuse of the protagonist throughout a story then this book may not be for you. If you do...well enjoy.
